Blood samples at Pechora district were collected

In July scientists of Dobzhansky Centre for Genome Bioinformatics together with colleagues from the Department of Ethnography and Anthropology of St. Petersburg State University carried out the expedition to Pechora district of Pskov region (near Estonian border), home to Russian and small Finno-Ugric peoples – Seto, whose numbers in Russia does not exceed 200 people. Blood samples from 60 indigenous people (Seto and Russian) were collected; genomic DNA has been extracted from all the samples.
